Miss Universe 2010


The Miss Universe for the year 2010 was from Mexico, and crowned during the early hours of Monday. Miss Universe 2010 on its 59th edition, took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas United States.

Eighty three hot beauties who have showed off their talent and figures in swimsuits, evening gowns with interviews from known hosts, which impressed the panel judges.

The first part of was the selection of the top 15 semifinalists who were judged on their swimsuit, evening gown and the first round of interview test. The countries Guatemala, Albania, Jamaica, Phillipines, Mexico, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Ireland and Australia were selected to the Top 10.

In the end, Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete was crowned as the Miss Universe of year 2010, where as Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell, Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska and Miss Philippines, Venus Raj finished at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Place respectively. Last Year Winner & Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela proudly crowned the Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarrete.

Miss Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul and Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell won the special titles which are were Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality respectively. Miss Thailand had also won the award for the Best in National Costume.

Manila Hostage Crisis on August 23, 2010


It was a shocking event to people of the Philippines on the day of August 24, 2010 due to the hostage crisis in Manila the City Capital of the Philippines. The hostage drama took place when a former Senior Police Officer forcely hitch on a tourist bus with foreign nationals from china and hongkong.

The hostage negotiation started about 10:00 in the morning of the mentioned date and police negotiators started to give a deadline up to 3PM. The demand of the hostage taker was to bring him back into his police force services and return his benefits.

Unfortunately the Police negotiators with the country ombudsman and the hostage taker in manila did not agreed on the said demands and misunderstood each other, instead the hostage drama took more time until the brother of the hostage taker cought by police for misbehavior and unlawful conversation with his brother (the hostage taker).

At more or less 10pm a terrible attack by Philippine National Police SWAT team to the bus where the hostages are in with the suspect made an unforgetable event to Philippine Nation. At least 8 where killed on the hostages and 7 where badly injured, the hostage taker was shot dead on the head by a Police Sniper.
